We met on 27th November 2025 to talk about new ways of making and creating, and how to work together in the Euroregion to achieve a sustainable audiovisual sector that puts people and social justice at the forefront.
“Towards more sustainable models in the audiovisual sector” brought together agents, companies, academia and public authorities to learn about inspiring experiences and projects that continue to open doors to Euroregional cooperation.
Ruth Mayoral from KSIgune presented the Euroregional Green Audiovisual Hub and the opportunities that this platform aims to offer to the audiovisual ecosystem of the Basque Country, Navarra and New Aquitaine in its second phase: exchange of good practices, training development and collaboration in audiovisual projects focusing on sustainability, ethics and social justice.
We were then able to see three inspiring projects from the fields of research, training and creation first-hand.
Carlos Fernández from Dr. Platypus & Ms. Platypus. Wombats, presented the Professor Octopus AI Lab initiative from Navarra, and its approach to the digital transformation of the creative industries through solutions developed with artificial intelligence. Leire Apellaniz, from Sr. y Sra., presented DirdiraLab from the Basque Country, a laboratory for training and the development of artistic and experimental films, from a gender, intercommunity, environmentally responsible and work-life balance perspective. Finally, Sébastien Fontaine presented LaBocaJ from New Aquitaine, a project for the ecological transition of the animation and video game sectors, with a positive impact on the territory.
In the final part of the event, the Euroregional Pitch was held, in which we could learn about ideas, projects, collaboration opportunities and tools, such as: Film Basque Country (Ruth Aristondo, Zineuskadi); TV Special; Le peigne d’Or (Fabrice Otaño, Discnosc Studio); Film and Visual Art School of Navarra (Oihane Iriarte – Pixelian); Feature Film: Ez bilatu zuk baduzuna (Maru Solores, filmmaker); Laminak (Marion Bedat, CAPB); and Publication on audiovisual officers (Ando Iturbe, ADI Research Group -UPV/EHU).
